Story-driven action platformer game
Perception: Heart and Mind is a premium adventure game developed by Thodoris Serafeim Adamakos. It is a 2D side-scrolling, narrative-driven platformer set in a fantasy world, focusing on a small community of people living on the branches of a giant tree high in the sky and the troubles they’re facing. A demo version is available for newcomers to check out.
A community in turmoil
Perception: Heart and Mind takes place in a giant oak tree and a green community of Rootbranch 12 that lives among its branches, 3,110 meters up among the clouds. However, it has fallen on hard times, with its residents having to deal with hardship, resentment, and dark emotions. It’s up to you to help your fellow neighbors with their troubles.
Explore an interconnected world, and battle robots and shadow entities using various weapons and light powers fueled by positivity, as well as solving various puzzle problems. Your decisions matter, influencing your surroundings and how events unfold. This is compounded by the multiple possible endings you can unlock. Having said that, the story itself is a bit vague and confusing, so you’ll need to pay attention.
Charmingly abstract
All in all, Perception: Heart and Mind offers a distinct experience with an intriguing narrative and platforming adventure through an interconnected world. Help its residents with their troubles, battle the darkness, and spread your light throughout your community. It takes a little time to grasp the story, but it’s well worth delving into.
